Huggy the Hugasaurus is a stop motion adaptation of the popular book series of the same name written by Rachel Bright and illustrated by Chris Chatterton. Yamination Studios in Birmingham acquired the creative rights to this series and have been developing it for a TV audience with funding from Warner Brothers.
Chris Chatterton is a very popular illustrator so naturally was not able to fulfil the requirements necessary for design and preproduction of an entire TV series. My role was to imitate Chris’ illustration style, with his blessing, to create props, assets and some light character design for the series to help the workshop at Yamination convert this 2D dinosaur world into tangible stop motion.
